BIOGRAPHY
Laurence "Lon" White, CPP, CBCP, is a global security and emergency management professional with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the private sector. He is a leading national authority on the subject of anti-extremism and Soft Target protection, and has provided counsel to dozens of vulnerable organizations and institutions across the country.

For the last seven and a half years, he has led global crisis management, threat intelligence and cyber security event response for a $18 billion national healthcare company.
​​
Previously, Mr. White was a leader on the Global Security Team at Target Corp., a Fortune 30 corporation. While at Target, he led a team that supported safe global operations in more than 80 countries.
​​
Over the years, he has worked closely with the FBI, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, FEMA and countless law enforcement and numerous public safety agencies nationwide, among many others.
​​
Amidst all his work in the private sector, he was also recruited to join the US National Intelligence services. While he did not ultimately pursue this path due to life circumstances, he benefited a great deal from the experience and continues to apply his learnings to this day.
​
For more than 15 years, he has applied his knowledge and expertise of security program leadership to better protect vulnerable institutions across the country. He has advised community centers (including JCCs), synagogues, churches, mosques, summer camps, assisted living centers and public schools, among many others. Earlier this year, he established and trained a 55-member volunteer security team at one of the largest synagogues in Southern California. He has also secured residential locations for countless high-profile, at-risk individuals.

Mr. White recently gave keynote addresses at the Jewish Security Institute, a joint initiative of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Jewish Federation, at some of the largest JCCs in the nation, and a leading U.S.-Israeli foundation.

Over the years, literally thousands and thousands of people - including teachers, students, camp counselors, administrative staff and faculty members, clergy, and community members - have benefited from his expertise and training.

On the legislative front, he has also provided testimony about the urgent need to protect against the sharp rise of Hate crimes. This testimony supported the successful passage of a new bill to essentially double the available grant funding for soft target protection.

In total, he has helped various institutions procure more than a million dollars in federal and state homeland security grants.
​​
Mr. White has won multiple awards and commendations for his efforts.
He is a graduate of Drake University and is a Board-Certified Protection Professional (CPP), internationally recognized as the highest level of accreditation for security leaders around the world.
​
Professional memberships and affiliations include FBI InfraGard, FEMA, ASIS and a variety of others in the global security and threat intelligence sector.

He is originally from the north shore of Chicago and now lives in San Diego with his wife, two children and two Labrador retrievers.
